Wood is Beautiful

Do you love wood as much as I do? I typically have an issue with mixed woods, though. I think it can easily look tacky. But here is how to do it well! Look at that beautiful mix of wood tones in the Marina Chevron Necklace ($88) by Amy Bengtson above. By using a dark brown wood with blackened streaks and a blueish undertone and mixing it with a red wood and a light white, the result is really interesting and captivating and not at all tacky. I also love that we're keeping with the chevron trend in a very timeless way!

A Touch of Chevron

I always hesitate to go all-out on a trend. I never know if it will still be popular in a year's time.... and I've definitely made the mistake enough times to hold back now. But, you can find classy pieces that reference a trend that will look good no matter what's "this season". For example, I love this adorable Pecos Handpainted Leather Bracelet ($24) from Son of a Sailor. High quality leather, hand painted with a cute chevron pattern, and finished off professionally with a brass clasp.... just lovely.
