The Perfect Layering Necklace

Flora Blossom Necklace - Click Image to Close

The Flora Blossom Necklace ($1,575) by Robindira Unsworth is the perfect layering necklace. Part of the Fine Collection, this necklace is made from 18k gold, rose cut diamonds, and sterling silver chain. It's 32 inches long, which makes it delightful paired with several other chains and baubles. The floral features are delicately placed, offset of each other in a trio. There's also a nice Stacking Ring (that looks best on its own) in the Signature Collection that we like, but most everything else is a bit boring. Fortunately, Bling of the Day is picked through the mediocre and gave you the best of the best!
Love,
Bling!

Playful Crab Claw Cufflinks

We love finding great bling for the men in our lives! Though it's hard to get them to wear cufflinks, every man needs a great pair of fun cufflinks and a great pair of fancy ones. These will serve as the fun pair, of course, but could probably do in a pinch for the fancy pair since they're simple and silver. The Crab Claw Cufflinks ($95) by Red Sofa are utterly gorgeous... but don't tell your man. They're handmade from sterling silver and measure less than an inch in each direction. Check out the other Red Sofa items because we honestly can't pick one we love the best, these cufflinks were just the first we saw.

Coyote Tooth Ring

There's plenty to keep our eyes entertained with the Tooth and Nail Coyote Tooth Ring ($45) by Doll Disaster Design. It's impeccably made, too. The size 7 1/2 ring has been soldered together using a sterling silver band, plate, and prongs. The coyote tooth was found and the small stone on the tooth is a green cz. It's interesting, beautiful, and stands alone well. You won't need any other jewelry with this on your finger! Doll Disaster Design is having a sale right now too. Items are up to $30 off! And the rest of their shop is lovely too, if you pick through all the mediocre and overly-busy stuff.
Love,
Bling!

BooHoo's Incredible British Deals!

GOLD - Tori multi diamond shaped ring

Things we love about this Multi Diamond Shape Ring: gold, textured, 5 pounds (that's English currency for about $8), and a great chunky shape. BooHoo.com has a ton of great jewelry for prices just as great as this one! The Animal Print Plastic Ring (5 pounds) pictured below left, is another great ring that looks like snake skin. And the Floral Patterned Enamel Bangle (8 pounds = roughly $12.50) has a gorgeous pink print and a shiny silver trim. Check out all the wonderful finds (clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories included) at Boo Hoo!

Three Natural-Inspired Things Done Right: Etsy Spotlight on RejoiceTheHands

Kachina Gypsy - Brass Breastplate Necklace

Rejoice The Hands is an amazing shop, housed on Etsy. They do (at least) three things so incredibly right. Breastplates, pendant necklaces, and using animal horn/hide/antler/etc. Their prices are mostly on-the-money, so to speak, with the materials and labor - if not a tad underpriced. But we like it that way. All the pieces are inspired by nature, particularly wildlife. Most are juxtaposed expertly with the manmade, resulting in stunning jewels we would love to display on our walls so we could look at them every day. Plus, they're all one-of-a-kind and shipping is under $5 worldwide.

Sale Alert: Gomatta Girls

Gomatta Girls is currently having a sale on Lucid (a great jewelry brand) with some pretty good prices, but a lot of mediocre pieces. However, the Super Steals section of the site (like Clearance except you can still return things - within 14 days). These Southwest Earrings ($6.99) by Spirit Collection are our favs from the sale, but there is plenty more blingy goodness to be had. Just hurry because there are rarely many in stock!
Love,
Bling!
PS - Not a Gomatta yet? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Just access Gomatta Girls with our referral link. You'll love their snarky Sopranos-esque storylines, too.

A New Take on Floral

Silver and Gold Bell Flower Earrings

These floral earrings are so much better than any others we've ever seen. The Silver and Gold Bell Flower Earrings ($24) by thevintagejewelrybox are just perfect. We would wear these anywhere. They look like they'd go lovely with anything black or anything in a palette of light neutrals (greys, creams, whites, pale mauves and blues). Stunning. They're made from copper, vintage brass, and oxidized silver. The earrings make a soft, gentle jingling sound when worn and the ear wires are niobium (read: hypo-allergenic). They'll switch them out for a sterling silver pair if you would prefer. They hang at 2 inches. We only wish we were pierced... maybe it's finally time to de-virginize our ears.
Love,
Bling!
PS - Free shipping in the US and a lot of other totally awesome goodies at TheVintageJewelryBox!

Thursday

Grown-Up Bambi Necklace

This "Antique Bambi" necklace (on sale for $15) by Tova is nostalgic in the best way and has a beautiful shape to it. The mix of metals and the burgundy stone are nice touches as well. We want to remember the glory days of Disney as we wear this galavanting around the local parks...

Sea Urchin Spike Earrings

Revelation- Upcycled Sea Urchin and Bullet Assemblage Earrings by DanielleRoseBean

Vintage bullet casings house beautiful sea urchin spikes hung on handmade copper ear wires in the Revelation - Upcycled Sea Urchin and Bullet Assemblage Earrings ($32) by DanielleRoseBean. The earrings hang about 3" but are lightweight. The bullet casings are vintage brass. The sea urchin spikes are a pinkish brown color and completely real. Cool, huh? It's a one-of-a-kind piece so scoop it up before someone else does! DanielleRoseBean has plenty of other pieces available in her Etsy shop, most of which are quite bold and assemblage-minded, though rather beautiful.
Love,
Bling!
PS - Grab up some beautiful jewels that benefit the Gulf Coast's oil spill cleanup! The piece by Mignon Faget, featured on Her Campus is just gorgeous and it's part of an entire collection which donates ten percent of proceeds to the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana.

Tuesday

Bark Ring

Bark Ring

When does our next paycheck get here?? We're not spending it on the new lamps we need for the bedroom. We're spending it on this Bark Ring ($200) by Carrie Bilbo. Sure the boyfriend may have an absolute fit that we spent all that money on a ring (that he didn't use to propose) instead of finally getting to go to that restaurant he covets. But we won't care because we'll have this ring. It's been created from real bark, using the lost wax casting method with bronze, and then plated with 24k gold. You can get it in sizes 6-9, half sizes included. Shipping is just $5 anywhere in the world, which is no biggie after we've spent that much on the piece in the first place. There are plenty in stock so you can horde your money for a while until you can afford it.
Love,
Bling!
PS - Carrie Bilbo's other pieces are also extraordinary. We love the Druse rings and the moth necklaces, oh and the raw stone rattle necklace, and the cone rings, and the wing-shaped pieces, and.... every last piece she makes! Literally every last one.

Monday

A Ring that's Out of Our Reach

We like to think that if we really scrimped and saved, we could afford just about any jewel we want, as long as we only get one. But we've met our match. This 18k Rhodium Plated White Gold, Diamond, and Moonstone Ring by Arunashi is $5,650 big ones... we don't even like to grab lunch out, so we're fantastically disappointed we can't purchase this baby. I guess we'll go run around all our favorite jewelry sites for several more affordable things to get our hopes up again. If this sort of ring is within your grasp, check out the rest of Churchill's site for other fine jewelry, antiques, art, clothes, accessories, gifts, vintage, EVERYTHING. Their sale items may provide a slightly better outlook, but the jewelry seems to be less lovely.
Love,
Bling!
PS - You can get almost the same ring in Prenite for $8,250...........

Go pick up your favorites at their (finally) affordable price before they're gone! Sale ends Monday at noon, so hurry!!

Stackable Stud Rings

Anna Beck offers us these Sumba Stackable Rings ($182 for four) at Blue Hand Home. We would like to wear just one on our index finger, please. We'll give the other three to our three besties, a la Sex and the City. You'll get two 18k gold and two sterling silver rings and can order in sizes 5-9, including half sizes. We love when you can order half sizes because our digits are oddly-sized. Plus, the young designer's jewels have been featured in InStyle, Cosmo, and Woman's Day. We can't imagine celebrities haven't scooped up their own Anna Beck yet too! Be sure to fumble around for all manner of beautiful finds (from housewares to bridal) while you're there!
Love,
Bling!
PS - On Wednesday, Urban Outfitters (a ridiculously gorgeous retailer we adore to our core) launched an online jewelry studio. This means they've teamed up with 10 designers to create UO-exclusive lines. Check it out because there are some slamming pieces! We'll do a feature on it in a little while, once we've got a handle on the best-of-the-best. Also, "like" UO on Facebook and you'll get awesome deals, this week especially (summer promotion time).

Nautical-Inspired Necklace

sailor knot necklace in white and gold

Rope tied in a genuine square sailor's knot. Beautiful gold chain and findings. Hangs delightfully adjustable from our neck and comes attached to a beautiful brown tag.
Yes, we want this. The Sailor Knot Necklace in White and Gold ($29) is a favorite from The Vamoose. The rope is cotton, the chain and findings are gold-plated, and it's a "square sailor's knot" should that make a difference. It's length is adjustable with a 2 inch extension chain, but really you could just hook the lobster clasp anywhere along the chain you like. You could even fashion it into a bracelet if you wrap the chain around your wrist a couple times. You can request silver chain and findings, but we like it in gold. The Vamoose offers other nautical rope necklaces and bracelets, using gold and silver chains and white and natural-colored ropes. The bracelet versions are only $18. Scoop one up straight away as they seem to be quite busy, having almost 1,000 sales in under a year of business!
Love,
Bling!
PS - Through Sunday (7/18/10) you can enter to win a piece from eight1six at Her Campus. There are three pieces being given away, so three chances to win! The prize options are two necklaces and a pair of earrings, all very different styles. Good luck!

Wednesday

Linked Leather Wrap Bracelet

Mmmm leather.... and it's offered in our absolute favoritest color ever! Green!! And in purple, black, and brown... The Double Link Wrap Bracelet ($92) by Leila features two 24k gold plated links tied on a thin leather wrap bracelet with a toggle closure in back. We might be in love....
Love,
Bling!
PS - other finds by Leila include the Initial Rings ($37), which we would totally use as wax seals for all our formal letter-written correspondence, and the Snake Wrapped Cuffs ($70), which are way glam for us but we couldn't want to wear them more for a night out on the town.

Tuesday

Paradox's Playful Necklaces

We're having a love affair with this piece. Garden Graffiti Vintage Fabric Yo-Yo and Gold Chain Necklace... what a mouthful. This Garden Graffiti necklace ($30) is by Paradox, a lovely Etsy seller with a slew of beautiful jewels taking up the pages of her shop. This piece is double-stranded and has matching earrings ($16), but we think the earrings are too much. The piece is almost entirely vintage, featuring vintage gold chain and a vintage fabric yo-yo (A yo yo is apparently a circle of fabric with a running stitch along the perimeter, when the thread is pulled the yo yo gathers up and you can secure the end. It's typically used as an embellishment in sewing crafts... apparently). Like all our favorite jewelers, Paradox makes this piece one-of-a-kind. No one else is going to be running around with your favorite necklace on. Promise. And they offer up more than just jewelry. They sell handmade and vintage jewelry, accessories, apparel, and shoes! That's the whole gamut of your wardrobe. You could buy entire outfits from them...
Love,
Bling!
PS - we also really like this slightly creepy aqua skeletal leaf necklace - that's not the actual name.

$50 of Jewelry for $19 or Less!

We had to post twice today because... You can get a $50 jewelry voucher for Red Daisy Studio for just $19 (right now! The price drops as more people purchase the vouchers and you're only charged for the final price.) at Jasmere - click here to check it out!! The deal is only available today, like each Jasmere deal. But if you sign up, you'll get a daily email with "today's feature". There are some pretty awesome finds there including jewelry, housewares, clothing, kids stuff, gifts, etc. We're constantly taunted by the lovely things on Jasmere. We give in sometimes, though we're trying to curb our online shopping habits.
Anyway, Red Daisy Studio is run by designer Kris Brashear who personally handles each order. You choose a base piece from the great assortment of beautiful designs, then you pick the metals and chains, and then you get to pick how they personalize it with hand stamping methods. Everything is handmade from the beginning so you know you're getting a quality piece with lots of character! Enjoy Red Daisy Studio and Jasmere!!

Cylindrical Rock Necklace

We kid you not. This piece is available for you to purchase... for less than $100 - a lot less. For just $54, this polished amethyst cylinder is yours. Promise.
Ok, we'll admit the metal is kinda cheap and the chain will probably have that awkward fake-shine when we finally see it in person. But... that rock is gorgeous. It's totally worth it to have to buy a new chain and suffer through the awkward metal setting. The amethyst is thoroughly polished in the round, but raw on the bottom. The best of both worlds. We love things in unexpected shapes, like a cylindrical rock. We hate predictable jewels, like anything with hearts. Check out the Amethyst Cylinder Pendant ($54) by Snoozer Loser.
We feel we must give credit where credit is due. Refinery 29 featured this piece in their article The New Age of Birthstone Jewels last week and we just couldn't resist stealing it for Bling of the Day too. Check out their site, they have awesome fashion taste!
Love,
Bling!

Clip-On Earrings: Part 5/5

We've made it! This week we brought you a slew of beautiful clip-on earrings. We started off with the most expensive and proceeded down from there. Everything we've posted this week is sold on Etsy, so we hope you enjoyed the hand-crafted and curated vintage pieces. Remember the golden rule when picking out clip-on earrings, they won't look good if you can see the bottom of the clip (the part that wraps around your earlobe). So make sure you get earrings that render the clip almost invisible.
Above, the Top of the Ear Cuff Hoops ($10) by AdroitJewelers are perfect for non-pierced darlings and at a price that's completely perfect for gifting to your non-pierced friends. They make your ears look perfectly pierced at the top of the cartilage. Adroit Jewelers has a simple aesthetic that makes their pieces very wearable, check them out! We totally identify with their philosophy that a pile of scraps and materials can be turned into useful and beautiful products that people enjoy wearing. Below, the Vintage Silver Floral Leaves Earrings ($2!!!!) by MyLovelyJewels are a total score and a beautiful, antique pair to show off! Check out their shop for many other great steals!

That concludes are Clip-On Earrings week. If you find other amazing clip-on bling, be sure to let everyone know in the comments! We might even do a feature on it if we like it enough.
Love,
Bling!

Clip-On Earrings: Part 4/5

This week we're bringing you a slew of beautiful clip-on earrings. We started with the most expensive and are moving down from there. Everything this week is sold on Etsy, so enjoy the hand-crafted and curated vintage pieces. Remember the golden rule when picking out clip-on earrings, they won't look good if you can see the bottom of the clip (the part that wraps around your earlobe). So make sure you get earrings that render the clip almost invisible.
Above, the Dark Angel Earrings ($30) by Aranwen have the prettiest curve to them and are quite unique the way they hang on your ear. They are brass, plated with sterling silver and accented with oxidation. Plus, Aranwen's shop has a ton of fantastic, dark jewelry like the cufflinksring, and pendant that match these earrings. And below, the vintage Donald Stannard Lion's Head Door Knocker Earrings ($30) by MonisVintage remind us of Venice (study abroad *sigh* how we miss thee) undoubtedly. We kind of loved reading MonisVintage's profile because it's cool that she went to culinary school, had a baby boy, and now hunts for vintage finds and hawks them on Etsy so she can spend her time with her son.

Love,
Bling!
PS - Those lion earrings would go really well with the Doorknocker Necklace from two weeks ago.

Wednesday

Clip-On Earrings: Part 3/5

This week we're bringing you a slew of beautiful clip-on earrings. We started off with the most expensive and are proceeding down from there.
Like this pair from Jewelry By Tamar. The Sterling Silver and 9 Karat Gold Earrings ($138) by JewelryByTamar are quite fetching. We love the way they've employed less expensive materials to make them beautiful (the nine karat gold) by using them with quality materials (sterling silver) and quality craftsmanship. Or if you prefer something a little less traditional, the Steampunk Watch Earrings ($59.95) by SteamDesigns are awesome and feature free worldwide shipping! SteamDesigns' shop features an obscene collection of AMAZING bling we really want for ourselves at pretty decent prices.

Clip-On Earrings: Part 2/5

This week we're bringing you a slew of beautiful clip-on earrings. We started with the most expensive and are moving down from there. Everything this week is sold on Etsy, so enjoy the hand-crafted and curated vintage pieces. Remember the golden rule when picking out clip-on earrings, they won't look good if you can see the bottom of the clip (the part that wraps around your earlobe). So make sure you get earrings that render the clip almost invisible.
These Hydrangea Earrings ($240) by PatrickIrlaJewelry are incredibly detailed and made impeccably from sterling silver. We love that they've burnished (a jewelry term that affects the look of the piece) the details to reveal brighter silver, while leaving the rest with a whitened oxide surface. They ship 1st class mail with insurance, so you can feel safe in your purchase. Be sure to convo them first before purchasing as they seem a little indefinite on whether they have the clip-on version in stock or if you need to special request it, though they definitely make them. We think you need to check out Patrick Irla Jewelry's shop because we've now featured them twice in three weeks - remember the Maple Seed Earrings?

Clip-On Earrings: Part 1/5

This week we're going to bring you a slew of beautiful clip-on earrings. We're going to start with the most expensive and go from there. Everything this week is sold on Etsy, so enjoy the hand-crafted and curated vintage pieces. Remember the golden rule when picking out clip-on earrings, they won't look good if you can see the bottom of the clip (the part that wraps around the bottom of your earlobe). So make sure you get earrings that render the clip almost invisible.
These Golden Sassafras Leaf Convertible Earrings ($1,870) are a limited edition by SimonsDesign. We think they're delightful. You can remove the pearl drops for a more versatile piece, but we prefer to keep them on unless we're going quickly from work to an evening out, in which case we would keep the pearls in our bag and put them on when we go out for an instant outfit change. The artist informed us they are 14k gold with a satin finished and engraved decoration and the clips are entirely handmade. The pearls are noted as "natural color baroque pearls", which leads us to believe they're vintage. Shipping is hefty, but if you're already paying this much it doesn't really matter. Check their shop for less expensive (as low as $18) pieces that are just as well-made. We like the Lover's Knot rings.

Bling!

Gold and Gemstone Bracelet

Malani Jewelers runs yet another website that hates letting you put their product pictures up to promote them. Despite this, we love the 22 Karat Gold Ladies Bracelet ($533). We love the colorful (but not tacky) bird motif and can imagine this dangling from a woman's wrist on a special fourth-date dinner. We also recommend this one as a gift from a guy, so be sure to tell your brother that this is how he gets to the next step with his girlfriend. Or even tell your dad to get out of the doghouse with a pretty piece like this. Also check out their men's and kids collections for some other great pieces! And if you live near Atlanta, Dallas, or Tampa, you can buy it in person or get free in-store repairs.
Love,
Bling!
PS - Check out this kitschy USB thumb drive for a laugh (and a great gift for the guy on your list).

Thursday

Lace-Inspired Necklace

We waited weeks for Fox and Clover to come back from vacation. We are so excited to finally bring you their innovative jewelry designs, all inspired by lace. The Bayeux Lace Necklace ($38) by FoxAndClover is our favorite of all their designs. All their pieces are necklaces made from recycled glass, handpainted, and fired to fuse permanently to the glass. This creates a painted images that will not scratch or fade, even over time. They use professional techniques and materials to make stunning handcrafted jewels like the one above. The chain is sterling silver and 16 inches long, hanging right over the collarbone. You can get a custom length if you prefer, by noting it at checkout. Shipping is discounted if you buy more than one piece, so grab a few for gifts!
Love,
Bling!
